Parking Panda is a young and rapidly growing startup with a vision for making parking painless and inexpensive. Our goal is to bring ease and efficiency to the parking industry. Our product is an online marketplace and optimization platform for parking. It enables parking owners and mangers (private and commercial) to capitalize on their parking inventory by driving extra traffic when yield is low and improving pricing when the lot is full. People in need of parking can save money and time by finding a place to park and paying right from their mobile phone or reserving a space in advance on the web.

We work out of our office in the Federal Hill neighborhood of Baltimore and from an awesome shared space in the heart of New York City. Business Analyst

We are looking for a talented business analyst who can help drive our strategic direction through rigorous data analysis and metrics. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make an impact at a growing startup. This person will play a key role in evaluating and making recommendations on new programs, identifying trends and building reports. If you’re an analytical person who thrives on metrics, loves data and isn't afraid of Excel or SQL, this is the opportunity for you.

Responsibilities

  • Own and independently drive analyses that help us answer critical business questions about finance, user acquisition, retention, sales, product and more.
  • Drive the analysis and build the reports that steer where the company goes next
  • Build an own the operational and financial model to help serve as the backbone of company decisions.
  • Proactively surface insights from our data to help Engineering, Product, Marketing and The Community and Support team achieve their goals
  • Be the #1 expert on our company’s data
  • Expand the dashboard and tools we use to understand the company’s data
  • Work cross-functionally on special projects and new initiatives

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in a heavily quantitative, analytic role within a high-performing organization. Experience in a similar role at a startup, in finance, or consulting highly preferred.
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Applied Math, Economics, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Deep appreciation for the value of statistics, data, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Mastery of Excel
  • Demonstrated experience with data query languages (e.g. SQL) highly preferred
  • Experience building a robust set of analytics tools and best practices from the ground up.
  • Experience in a startup environment

Business Development, Parking

Parking Panda is seeking a highly motivated, intelligent, and experienced parking professionals to join our growing team. You'll spend your day developing relationships with garages and lot owners and managers—building the inventory that fuels Parking Panda’s growth.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and develop new parking prospects
  • Build upon existing and develop new relationships that support the growth of our parking inventory
  • Create and execute compelling presentations to bring on new partners
  • Create sales collateral and develop strategies for execution

Requirements

  • 3+ years of parking industry experience, ideally in a management or business development role

C# / SQL Developer

You have a passion for solving big problems and building products that will reach millions of people. You are a well-rounded person that is comfortable building both internal and external APIs for both our website and our partners. You value an elegant UI and streamlined UX for your users and build with that in mind. Knowledge of data analytics is also a major plus. Being able to impress us with something you've built and having a great personality are more important to us than formal education.

Community Manager

You are a highly motivated, intelligent, and outgoing person passionate about our company’s goals with a knack for online and offline community outreach that drives significant new user acquisition and impresses existing customers to keep them coming back. This is an entry level position with great opportunities for growth within the company as you will be required to learn the full spectrum of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot customer issues

Content / Email Marketing Manager

Parking Panda is hiring a Content/Email Marketing Manager: a mid-level strategic role that will be critical in driving user engagement and repeat usage of prospective and existing Parking Panda customers. This position will create, implement, and manage Parking Panda's email and remarketing in order to increase audience engagement and repeat customers.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement engagement and retention strategies and campaigns that can appeal to various segments of daily, event, and monthly parking
  • Coordinate email campaign schedule across 40 US markets and counting
  • Write original content and edit existing content, including email communications, web copy, and marketing collateral
  • Incorporate results and insights of CRM data analysis to improve communications
  • Create and manage various promotions and/or loyalty programs to maximize excitement about the Parking Panda brand

Requirements

  • Preferred 3-5 years of experience as a copywriter, editor, marketing communications specialist, content marketing, or other similar role
  • Proven experience with copywriting, content creation and proofreading/editing skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with shifting priorities and minimal supervision required

Customer Service Representative (Full-time)

Parking Panda is seeking qualified candidates to join our full-time in-house customer service team in the greater Baltimore area. A member of the Parking Panda customer service team must be a detail-oriented people person with a welcoming personality. The customer service representative should have a strong work ethic and the ability to think decisively while multitasking. The position gives you the unique opportunity to interact with all divisions of the company. Please note this position would require you to work at least one full work day on a weekend in lieu of at least one weekday. Candidates with the most total weekend ability will be given preference.

Director of Communications

Parking Panda is hiring a Director of Communications: a mid-level strategic role that will be critical in driving consumer awareness of the Parking Panda brand as the easiest way to find, purchase and redeem parking for every route. We’ve received some great national press to date, but in our next phase of growth we need our first-ever PR leader: an experienced, strategic team member who can help us shape our message, amplify company news and build a driver’s favorite brand.

The Director of Communications' primary responsibility is to broadly raise the visibility of Parking Panda, enhancing its image and reach among consumers and parking partners. Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, this role will own strategy, development and execution of Parking Panda’s public relations strategies to support overall business objectives, including corporate, brand and content communications.

The ideal candidate is a media relations guru who has an uncanny ability to unearth interesting stories. A track record of success working in-house at a consumer company and managing an external PR agency is a major plus. Understanding how to stretch a budget and when to spend money that will yield ROI is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Create and evolve messaging that accurately reflects Parking Panda’s value proposition and value by audience
  • Develop and own our media relations strategy for 2014 and beyond, catering to multiple audiences within the consumer, business and tech press
  • Select and manage our first US PR agency
  • Leverage existing assets to amplify our PR efforts...more interviews, more creative content distributed across social media and third-party sites
  • Groom senior leaders to serve as experts in the parking industry, relatable and easy to book

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-7 years of communications experience
  • Excellent creative writing and grammar a must
  • Experience owning PR strategy for a consumer brand a must, either in-house or while at an agency
  • Existing relationships with national consumer, business and tech press preferred
  • Experience in the mobile app or consumer technology space a big plus
  • A strong point of view on media relations strategy; what will drive Parking Panda app download and repeat purchase, the balance between a PR agency and internal team, etc.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively to achieve desired results. We are a startup and all wear multiple hats.
  • Able to celebrate modest but meaningful smaller wins while driving the team toward quarterly goals: a master at summarizing the 30,000 ft view and guiding senior leadership to get there

Marketing (Internship)

The marketing intern should be a college student or recent graduate. In this position you will work closely with the CEO and Marketing Manager to help implement strategic local and digital marketing initiatives. You will have the opportunity to learn SEO, SEM, and local marketing strategies. You will be actively involved in content creation, social media management, and organizing local outreach efforts. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a young and rapidly growing startup. Mobile Engineer (iOS and Android)

Parking Panda is seeking an experienced mobile developer (Xamarin) to join our engineering team and lead development of our consumer facing mobile applications (IOS and Android). You should be passionate about using mobile to improve the consumer experience around parking, comfortable leading mobile development decisions alongside our CTO, and ready to work in a small and fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of our iOS and Android applications via Xamarin

  • Use knowledge of mobile platforms to help guide design and engineering decisions’

Weekend Customer Service Representative (Part-time)

Parking Panda is seeking qualified candidates to join our customer service team on a part-time basis in the greater Baltimore area on weekends (Friday-Sunday). The customer service representative should have a strong work ethic and the ability to think decisively, while multitasking on their own. Once you have been through the training program, qualified candidates may be given the option to work from home. Above all else, part-time customer service representatives should thoroughly enjoy helping others.
