The Transamerica Chicago Triathlon is finally upon us and will be challenging athletes throughout the weekend! Be sure to check out all the action as it takes place around Grant Park.
The Transamerica Chicago Triathlon is a great event that is built for athletes of all levels. In fact, the weekend will consist of three separate race. There will be the Triathlon, the SuperSprint, and the Life Time Kids Tri. Combining the skills of swimming, biking and running, this is sure to be a fun, yet challenging weekend!
Kids Tri (7-10) - 100m Swim, 4K Bike, & 1K Run
Kids Tri (11-14) - 200m Swim, 8K Bike, & 2K Run
SuperSprint - 375m Swim, 10K Bike, & 2.5K Run
Triathlon - 1.5K Swim, 40K Bike, & 10K Run
When is the Chicago Triathlon?
Both the Kids Tri and the SuperSprint will be taking place on Saturday, August 29th. The SuperSprint will start off the day at 7:00am. The Kids Tri will step off at 8:30am (11-14 yr olds) and 9:30am (7-10 yr olds).
The Chicago Triathlon will take place on Sunday, August 30th and has a start time of 6:00am.
Where is the Chicago Triathlon?
The Kids Tri and SuperSprint races will begin at Foster Beach on N. Lake Shore Dr. and will make their way south towards Montrose Beach for the biking and running portions.
The Triathlon will be centered around Grant Park with the start point being next to the Buckingham Fountain.
