The Concert for Valor

This year for Veteran’s Day, we encourage you to check out The Concert for Valor: Saluting America’s Veterans. The large gathering on the National Mall is sponsored by HBO and is aimed at raising awareness for veterans’ support groups and having viewers support related charities. The concert will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 11th at 7 pm, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

It is expected that this concert will rival other large events that take place on the National Mall, including the 4th of July celebrations and Presidential Inaugurations. A lot of this is due to the celebrity appearances and performances that are slated to take place. Spectators can expect to see performances by Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, Carrie Underwood, Eminem, Dave Grohl, Metallica, Zac Brown Band, Jamie Foxx and John Oliver, along with appearances by Meryl Streep, Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.

This concert does have viewing areas for those who purchased tickets, as well as for the general public. However, in order to enjoy the show you first have to get there. Metro stations will be up and running starting at 5 am until midnight (except Smithsonian). But if you’re looking to drive into the district, we strongly suggest that you book a parking reservation ahead of time. Traffic is expect to be extremely heavy and parking will be in high demand. Make your reservation nowto ensure you can arrive on time and enjoy the show!
