San Francisco Marathon

Over 25,000 runners are expected to participate in this year's San Francisco Marathon! Whether you will be running or just cheering on the runners, find out all the information you'll need to know for the 2015 SF Marathon!


On Sunday, July 26th, the streets of San Francisco will be filled with runners participating in the various SF Marathon races. The SF first Half Marathon and full marathon already sold out. The second Half Marathon and the Fitbit 5K are closing in on selling out but you can still register for those races online.

SF Marathon Race Expo Info:

All SF Marathon Race participants will have to pick up their race packets which include bibs, timing chips, and race t-shirts at the Race Expo! The Race Expo will be located at the Fort Mason Center Festival Pavilion on Friday, July 24th and Saturday, July 25th. Friday Expo hours will be from 12 PM until 7 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM. You'll need photo ID and your confirmation e-mail to receive your race packet!

SF Full Marathon Info:

The San Francisco Full Marathon will kick off between 5:30 AM and 6:30 AM with runners being sent out in wave. See the full list of wave send-off times here. The SF Marathon Start/Finish Line is located at the Ferry Building, with the course looping around many famous San Fran sites including Fishermen's Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge, and AT&T Park.  Check out the full SF Marathon course map:

First SF Half Marathon Info:

The first half marathon has already sold out but registered runners can expect the following! The first SF Half covers the first half of the full SF Marathon course. The first Half kicks off at 5:30 AM at Mission Street and the Embarcadero. The race finishes at the Golden Gate Bridge and there are shuttles available to transport runners back to the Full Marathon Start/Finish Line. Check out the first half course map below:

Second SF Half Marathon Info:

The second SF Half Marathon starts in waves between 8:15 AM and 8:35 AM at JFK Drive and 36th Avenue. There is a shuttle available from the main Marathaton Start/Finish Line to get to the Second Half Start in Golden Gate Park. The second Half starts at Spreckel's Lake and concludes on the Embarcadero at the Marathon Finish Line. Check out the course map for the second SF Half:

Ultramarathon Info:

Running the SF Marathon once just not enough? The Ultramarathon lets you run the course TWICE! Right at the start of Sunday, July 25th at midnight, the Ultramarathon kicks off with participants running the SF Marathon loop backwards first then the official marathon course.

Fitbit 5K Info:

The SF Marathon Fitbit 5K starts at 7:45 AM at Mission Street and The Embarcadero. The 5K takes runners along the scenic San Francisco Bay, see the course map below:
