Pope Francis is headed to the United States for the first time- EVER! His first stop in the U.S. will be the Nation’s Capitol. As most of us know, Washington D.C. is notorious for it’s traffic and parking problems but this will only get worse this week as the Papal Visit continues its trip throughout D.C.
So what does this mean for you? Three days of transit disruptions, extensive road closures, traffic backups, massive crowds, delays and little to no street parking. Basically like the inauguration, but for three days straight.
But don’t fret because we have the ideal parking guide to help you survive this week (without totally losing your mind). At Parking Panda we have acquired over 53,000 parking spots across the city. Remember that more than 2 million people are expected to converge upon D.C. this week to see the Pope, so it’s best to book your guaranteed parking as soon as possible.
We have parking available for Wednesday, September 22nd 2015 and Thursday, September 23rd 2015 along the Pope’s tour trail.
For the commuters headed to D.C. we have plenty of parking options available for you as well.
Here are our quick tips to make the most of this week:
Leave early, and plan ahead. With traffic wait times possibly exceeding two hours, it’s best to give yourself plenty of time.
Try to carpool with a friend or neighbor, this will help with the congestion and is overall just best for the environment.
Take a look at planned road closures before you hit the road, again the more you plan, the easier your commute will be.
Book your parking with Parking Panda as soon as possible! Whether you’re driving in.
First time users can save $10 with promo code POPEMOBILE for their parking reservation in DC (expires- 9/24/2015).
