The world's best hockey players will take center stage when they come together for the NHL's All-Star Weekend in Columbus! For two days Nationwide Arena will play host to one of the league's main attractions, a star studded fan experience that entertains thousands each year.
A total of 48 All-Stars will be on display for the duration of the weekend. Six players were selected by the fans and the NHL hand-picked the remaining thirty-six players All-Stars, while also giving nods to six rookies. Nick Foligno, of the hometown Blue Jackets, and Jonathan Toews, of the Chicago Blackhawks, have been named captains for the two teams. They will divide up the All-Stars, school-yard style, into two teams that will compete against each other in the Skills Competition on Saturday, January 24th and the All-Star Game on Sunday, January 25th.
However, the Skills Competition and the All-Star game are not the only attractions that will be available to fans. Down the street at the Greater Columbus Convention Center there will be the NHL's Fan Fair! This event will take place from Thursday, January 22nd until Sunday, January 25th. Although Thursday is a private session for Blue Jackets season ticket holders, the remainder of the weekend still has tickets for sale. Fans can meet mascots, view league trophies, and test their hockey skills with interactive activities. More information can be found here.
