Meet Meghan, Our March Customer of the Month!



We're excited to get to know our Customer of the Month, Meghan Y., a cheerleader and extremely involved professional who recently used Parking Panda on an outing with her girlfriends. Meghan moved to Washington D.C. this past year after growing up and going to college in the great city of Buffalo. 


When she’s not cheerleading for one of the District’s local sports teams, you can find Meghan exploring the city, going out with friends, or travelling. Like so many of our other customers, Meghan has come to realize that painful parking experiences are a thing of the past when you park with Parking Panda.


Tell us a little about yourself, where are you from and what do you do?


I’m a cheerleader for a local sports team! We perform at the games, interact with fans, and make appearances in the community. We have a wonderful relationship with Children’s Miracle Network which has been the most meaningful part of this opportunity for me.


I was born and raised in Buffalo and attended the University of Buffalo where I studied Foreign Affairs. I now live in DC and work for an organization that supports individuals with intellectual disabilities.


How did you find out about Parking Panda?


I organized a team outing to Disney on Ice at the Verizon Center and we had no idea where to park. That’s when fate brought us to Parking Panda. It was a very good experience; there were 7 or 8 of us that used it. They all found that the app was very easy to use. Parking Panda had a lot of options near the Verizon Center so availability wasn't a concern!


How did you become involved in cheerleading?


Performing has always been a passion of mine. My background is in ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. It wasn't until high school that I started cheerleading as well. I found that was a fun way to blend my love of sports and performing. All through high school, I danced competitively with my studio and was also on my high school cheerleading squad; I was captain my senior year. In college, I cheered for University at Buffalo’s football team. After graduation, I moved to DC for work and discovered this cheerleading squad that I’m now a part of! It has been a great way for me to make new friends and meet lots of people.


What sports teams do you root for?


I have to admit I love the Dallas Cowboys, and of course the Buffalo Bills.


How do you like living in the nation’s capital?


I love it! I moved to the District in August; trying new restaurants, and exploring has been really fun for me.


What do you do to keep busy on the weekends?


I coach a cheerleading squad for girls with intellectual disabilities which is the most rewarding thing I do. Our season started a few weeks ago, I believe we have close to 60 cheerleaders on our squad which is amazing. The girls were performing at a local event last year and I immediately fell in love and signed up to be a coach!

What type of music do you like? What’s on the radio on the way to work?


All kinds! Since I am a dancer, I’ll listen to anything I can dance to; I'm also really into Motown.


Do you have any big plans for the summer?


I've reached the age where all of my friends are starting to get married so I have a few weddings to attend which I’m excited for! Aside from that, I’m really looking forward to summer in DC, this is a very fun place to be!


As you found out you can now reserve parking from your phone, what other apps do you use on your phone these days?


A lot of my life is on my phone now. I love social media to stay connected with friends & family - Instagram, Twitter, Facebook & Snapchat. Some other favorites of mine are Venmo, Spotify, Uber, ZocDoc, Bank of America, and Mint.
