Chicago Parking Guide

The windy city is the third largest city in the United States and plays host to nearly 3 million people. Chicago is home to a variety of attractions, from theatres and art galleries, to stadiums and arenas. Chicago most definitely has something for everyone. That is why it is one of the most traveled to cities in the country, with an estimated 40 million people visiting Chicago each year.

With all of these people coming in and out of the city, parking can be difficult. However, with Parking Panda you can reserve a spot in advance and enjoy the city. Here are some of the options Parking Panda offers at the most popular destinations in Chicago.

Getting Around

In Chicago, there are many ways to get around the city. The Chicago Transit Authority operates trains and buses in Chicago. Single ride fare costs $2.25 for both bus or train ride. The major train lines of CTA run through the Loop and run from about 4:30 AM - 1:00 AM (two lines are 24/7). The bus system runs frequently and many routes run 24 hours a day. For more information visit the Chicago Transit Authority website.

Amtrak Union Station is the major midwestern hub of the train system. As the city’s only intercity rail terminal, Chicago Union Station handles around 120,000 passengers on a weekday. The main entrance is on Canal Street with the closest CTA Train Stations being Quincy and Clinton. For more information on rates, availability and routes, check out the Amtrak Chicago Union Station website.  As Amtrak’s Official Parking Partner, Parking Panda is proud to offer options that allow travelers to reserve parking near the station for the duration of the trip.

Street Parking

Free street parking is limited within Chicago, especially in the Loop. Residents can apply for Residential Zone Parking Permits to park in designated areas without a time limit. The cost is $25.00 per year and more information can be found here.
